Green Campus Transformation
The “Green Campus Transformation” competition encourages students to use their creativity to beautify their campus recycling facilities, with a view to enhancing their sense of responsibility on waste reduction and recycling. Students can create a short video and provide photos for participating the competition to showcase the before/after of their campus recycling corner and their design ideas. Each winning school will receive a trophy. There are chances for the winning schools to illustrate and share their works in the award ceremony/activities/sharing sessions/website of the EPD.

- Teaching Environmental Knowledge
Teachers can make use of the above teacher resources support to teach students how to reduce waste at source and correctly classify and recycle it.
- Student Representatives to form “Green Campus Transformation” Team
Schools can select students with enthusiasm for environmental protection and creative thinking to form a "Green Campus Transformation" team to coordinate and implement matters related to beautifying campus recycling corner.
- Team Members to Formulate the Design
Students can use their creativity to design unique layout and operation plans by considering the functions, convenience, and educational elements of the recycling corner, such as redesigning the appearance or layout of recycling bins, adding information about waste reduction and recycling, and attracting more people to use the recycling facilities.
- Use Recycled Materials to Beautify the Campus Recycling Corner
Reuse waste materials in design, such as recycling or upcycling waste.
- Team Members to Maintain Regularly the Recycling Corner to Ensure that the Environment is Clean and Beautiful
Team members are responsible for the daily maintenance of the recycling corner and regularly review the recycling effectiveness, such as usage rate, recycling quantity and convenience of recycling.
- Team Members to Promote the Importance of Waste Reduction and Recycling on Campus
Students can organise different activities and use promotional materials or interactive elements to educate classmates about waste reduction and recycling, encourage the whole school to actively participate in campus waste reduction and recycling, and enhance their sense of responsibility for waste reduction and recycling.

- Aesthetics (30%): Assess the overall visual appeal and design of the recycling corner
- Use of eco-friendly materials (20%): Use of upcycling materials in the design
- Functionality (20%): Assess its convenience for teachers and students to use the recycling corner (e.g. location and identification of the recycling bins)
- Educational elements (20%): Education and interactive elements in promoting waste reduction and recycling
- Creativity (10%): Unique and creative design or operational methods
Participating schools have upload the short video and photos to social media or online drive (please grant “read” access, otherwise it will not be reviewed without notice). From 1 October 2024 to 31 May 2025, schools should provide the links of video and photos and school details to this online form.
