To safeguard the information security of GREEN$ users and facilitate the identification of SMS senders, the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) has registered the “SMS Sender Registration Scheme” under the Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA) for the GREEN$ Electronic Participation Incentive Scheme (ePIS). From now on, all SMS messages sent by the GREEN$ ePIS will display “#EPD_GREEN” as the sender’s name to ensure the reliability and authenticity of the messages.

Key Information

1. All SMS messages sent by the GREEN$ ePIS will begin with a “#” and display the sender name “#EPD_GREEN”. Users can verify the source of the message using this identifier.
2. EPD will never request users to provide personal information, conduct financial transactions, or download unknown applications through links in SMS messages.

If users receive SMS messages claiming to be from the GREEN$ ePIS but the sender name is not “#EPD_GREEN”, please remain vigilant. Do not click on any links in the message or provide any personal or financial information to unverified senders.

Enquiries and More Information

Users can visit the OFCA website(www.ofca.gov.hk/ssrs)to learn more about the participating organizations and their registered sender names under the “SMS Sender Registration Scheme.” For further verification or enquiries, please contact the EPD.
